Fates are triple goddesses in various mythologies who determine the fate of humans and often of other gods.
In Greek mythology, the name is Moirai (Latinized: Moirae). They are represented as a triune form of the goddess Moira and collectively determine the course of life of both mortals and gods. They do this by spinning, measuring and cutting the "thread of life" of the mortals.
The Fates in Greek Mythology are:
Klotho ("the spinner", who spun the thread of life)
Lachesis (“the divider”, who measured the thread and thus decided how long a person had to live)
Atropos ("the inescapable", who cut someone's thread when his time came)
Since people live longer today I imagined them taking a well deserved brake from their work
